A decade ago, casual Fridays posed a most confounding style quandary for many men, but thanks to jeans and ever-improving shirt designs, most have figured out a way around chinos from the Gap and baby-blue button-down shirts. Now, the problem is weekends. Men still haven't figured out what to wear on weekends. What's a guy to do? 白领男士周末该穿什么? The Answer: What to Wear on Weekends We're not going to tell you how to hang out at home stained tank top and cutoff jeans, for all we care. But when you leave the house on weekends, stick to some rules. Here are a few to get you started. T-shirts You can never go wrong with a simple, plain, crew-neck T-shirt as long as it's not too worn out and fits appropriately. But for a slightly more grown-up and stylish look, skip the Fruit of the Loom and go with higher-quality cotton. Printed T-shirts If it celebrates your alma mater, we'll allow it, but stay clear of attempts at humor or political statements. And never bear your company's logo or designs by Ed Hardy─the former makes you look square; the latter, sleazy. Sneakers Can't bear to say good-bye to Converse? At least shift from Chuck Taylors to something slightly more mature. Same Converse comfort, but a bit more elegant. And as with all sneakers, stick with simple designs and basic dark colors. If your kids are wearing the same style sneakers as you are, it's time to get new ones. Hooded sweatshirts They're undeniably comfortable and yes, they seem to take a few years off your overall look. But just remember, hoodies are a preferred look of convenience-store stickup men, drug dealers and G20 rioters. So, unless you're planning a job in sub-zero weather, keep the hood off. Sandals If you're going to the beach or a pool party, under any other context, your toes should be covered─a pair of Havaianas can do. For other warm-weathered occasions, go with casual loafers sans socks. The effect: the look of a blueblood (贵族)even if you aren't. |
